Tegnap este kicsit padlót fogtam. Rose. Igen.
---------------------------
Last night a saw a play called Rose, written by Martin Sherman. Of course it moved me very deeply, as does almost any Jewish subject. The Hungarian actress, Éva Vári, who did the whole play alone, was amazing. I’ve heard a lot about her before but this was the first time I saw her in the theater. The play is really the life story of a Jewish woman; with war and peace, crime and punishment, love, intrigue, Israel, enthusiasm, disenchantment, basically pretty much everything that’s inside me too. It’s the kind of play where people in the audience sometimes laugh (either because it’s funny or because they are puzzled and don’t know what else to do), other times they hold their breath, and towards the end they start thinking and might even shed a few tears. Well, umm… I cried like rain when it was over; but this doesn’t mean much since I walked out of the movie theater crying after a comedy, and those were not tears of laughter either. In any case, this play will sustain me with food for thought for a while.

Kite
Hmmm.

Kite flying is fun! I never really knew this before because I never really did it. Till yesterday. Last week I happened to walk into a kite shop near my favorite guitar shop. The guy there was really nice and helpful and he told me that if I am interested in kite flying, there is an annual festival I could go to. and it was yesterday, so we went. and it was very nice. It was nice to be out in the sun and it was nice to see all those kites. I even got a cool 2-line foil kite. Well-well… I will need to practice a bit… But it is really major fun! It would be nice to be out some place nice with my kite right now instead of sitting in the office.

----------------------
Three sluttish Pekingese’ and a can of beer. What kind of life is that?! Asked P earlier this week when we left the house of M, who has a flower shop and a dog called Amelia; where we had a cappuccino in out empty half an hour because we didn’t feel like going to the Pit.

PPP: Post-Pesach-Post
Nnnaszóval. Itt vagyok megint. Közben annyi történt, hogy ugye Peszach. Először is a takarítás. Ilyen a tavasz: megújulás, megújítás, takarítás, tisztulás, megmekkenés, kiheverés, túlevés, diéta. Aztán miután jól a feje tetejére állt, majd valamelyest a helyére került csomó minden kívül s belül, mehet tovább az élet. Jöhet a mehet. Ilyesmi.

Ok-doc. Here i go again. I’ll tell you what happened in between: Pesach. First the cleaning. Actually that’s not quite true; first came being stressed about cleaning. About how big of a job it’s gonna be. This stress even effected the cool Camel-rock hike that I wrote about in the previous post, however, it didn’t keep me back from going anyway. After all I got myself together and first I sterilized my office, and then did the same in my house. Not quite as thoroughly as last year; I didn’t clean the public hallway in front of my apartment for example. While I was working, I tried to keep in mind the wisdom I received from the wise rebbetzins, namely that dust is not chometz. Didn’t always succeed. Not much dust was left. And that made me feel very good. I like this feeling, when everything is totally clean, at least once a year; even if I get drawn in the process. That’s just somehow part of it. That’s what spring is all about: renewal, cleaning and getting clean, exhaustion and recovery, over eating and diet. And finally, after everything turns upside down and then finds the way to it’s place inside and out (or at least tries to find it), life can go on. Or something like this. I’ll write more later, now I got busy.

Cocktail party
---------------------
Oh what a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon! Just perfect for a good rally that is times just right to fit in between work and Shabbos. So this time I’ll be there. Enough of the neo-nazi idiots with their Molotov cocktails.

Színezés folyamatban/ Coloring in process
A lemezért is.
Hát ilyesmi.

Not writing too much lately. Not that things don’t happen; because they do. They just mostly happen inside me. There are the ones that I can’t word, and the ones I don’t want to word. However, a few lines from a song by a Hungarian band named Magna Cum Laude keep popping up in my head:
Color it, Color it anew!
If life would get faded,
And there are clouds in the sky,
Don’t run away, just color it anew!
Well, yeah. Ummm… Long time will pass till I can sit down on the freshly painted bench, but I am working on painting it diligently in any case.
On the outside spring is coming along slowly but surely and that’s jolly good. Along with it comes Pesach, which I will spend here in Budapest this year. And of course the cleaning… As the weather is getting better, all kinds of things start happening on the streets too, like rallies (don’t they ever get bored?!), and all those nice exhibitions and festivals, which I like.
Besides all this someone very lovely gave me Melissa Etheridge’s new album (Awakening) as a present and I am blown away. By both.
That’s about it.

Both sides now
What a beautiful poem! What a beautiful song! Just so true! It's Joni Mitchell, of course. She was great in 1970; and 30 years later she still is.
Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, i've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things i would have done but clouds got in my way.
I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions i recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.
Moons and junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real; i've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. you leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away.
I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions i recall.
I really don't know love at all.
Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "i love you" right out loud,
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, i've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say
I've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.
I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions i recall.
I really don't know life at all.

Most pedig megyek aludni.

Itt a tavasz / Spring's here
„Tavasz lesz, hirdetik a fák,
saját szagától mámoros a mák”.
Jómagam is hasonlókról tudok beszámolni, s eme állításomat a hóvirágok is bízvást megerősítik, amiket tegnap láttunk a Pilisben, annak is a tetején, amit meglepő módon Pilistetőnek hívnak. Ugye?
Spring’s here, no question.
That’s what the trees sing, and that’s why the snowdrops were smiling so beautifully yesterday when we saw them on our way up to the Pilis mountain. We hiked up, looked around, came down, and it was all oh so good! And this is still nothing compared to the amazing piece of art the death watch beetle made into a tree-trunk. Hmm?

Hi, only a little hi (For T. Györgyi)
A little hi
just passing by
a little smile
will you stay for a while?
flying time
should not make you cry
'cause it's a rhyme
what a chime
another sigh
time to fly
the pleasure’s mine
bye-bye
just passing by
a little smile
will you stay for a while?
flying time
should not make you cry
'cause it's a rhyme
what a chime
another sigh
time to fly
the pleasure’s mine
bye-bye

sámán, bába, kacsázik
Ez a 3 szó volt versírásra megadva. Illik a mai hangulatomhoz. Nos hát:
Húzzátok a köteleket
szóljanak a harangok
doboljatok sámánok
ólomtalan fülembe
halljam a dobokat, halljak bármit
csak ez a csönd
ez a vihar előtti borzalom
csak ez ne legyen már
csak ez érjen véget
remeg a gyomrom
kacsázik a lábam
láva forr a mélyben
robbanáshoz mindig hosszú
nyugalom a bába
Húzzátok a köteleket
szóljanak a harangok
doboljatok sámánok
ólomtalan fülembe
halljam a dobokat, halljak bármit
csak ez a csönd
ez a vihar előtti borzalom
csak ez ne legyen már
csak ez érjen véget
remeg a gyomrom
kacsázik a lábam
láva forr a mélyben
robbanáshoz mindig hosszú

Mc.Tet-set
A folyton nyüzsgő Oktogon
Az összenézés szombaton.
Te vagy a kulcs a kilincs alatt
Te vagy a fütty a madárban
Egy jegyszedő vagy a dagályban
Minden szavad felém szalad
Te vagy az ágy, a párna
A délelőttök a kádba’
Te vagy a csókolatlan száj
A propellerrel borzolt táj
Az ökörsütő huszárok
A fényképező japánok
Te vagy a kocsiban a duda
A túróscsuszás Óbuda
A nedves mezők illata
Az egyetlen, ki megkapna
Te vagy a kulcs a kilincs alatt
Te vagy a fütty a madárban
Egy jegyszedő vagy a dagályban
Minden szavad felém szalad
Te vagy az ágy, a párna
A délelőttök a kádba’
Te vagy a kulcs a kilincs alatt
Te vagy a fütty a madárban
Egy jegyszedő vagy a dagályban
Szerelmesen zebrán szaladsz
Alkonyat lesz, ruhátlan
Megfürdünk a Dunában

A mindenit / Down with the bags
Ma reggel. Átszállójegy. Csúcsforgalom. Tömeg. Metró. Mellettem illatos, kalapos ember. De nem is erről akartam beszélni. Mert aztán átszálltam. 4.-6. villamos. Hű de sokan vagyunk. Heringek, oroszok, ki mire asszociál. Ugye.
2. Vigyázni kell az értékekre. Főleg arra, ami nem az erszényben van. Hanem a lelkekben. A magunkéban és a másokéban. A zenében, a versekben, a képekben, a mozgásban, a természetben.

This morning. Transfer ticket. Traffic jam. Crowd. Subway. Next to me a nice smelling man with a hat. But this is not what I meant to say. Because I changed. Tram. Gosh, how many people! Sardines in a can. Suddenly I am shocked to realize that the incredibly impertinent and loser thief is unzipping my backpack. In it everything. My phone, and of course my purse. The forbear of which was stolen from me about a month ago at the pool. But not this one. I didn’t let it go. I was really surprised that this nurd is opening my bag in such a way that I could feel it though a thick sweater and a winter coat so I immediately took it off my shoulder and to see if anything was missing from the open pocket and if I should shout, call the police, etc.; and I must’ve looked at him funny so he quickly got off the tram. Poor, poor guy… Not enough that he’s sticky fingered, he also made such a fool of himself.
I draw 2 conclusions from this incident.
1. ALWAYS takeoff your backpack when using public transportation. And watch it, hold it, clamp it. Some people will just steal your ears if you don’t watch out.
2. We have to watch our values. Not the ones in our purse but rather the ones in the souls of ourselves and others. In music, in poems, in pictures, in sports, in the nature. Because there’s so much trash, so much evil on Earth. We must concentrate on the good.
Az esetnek két tanulsága van.
2. Vigyázni kell az értékekre. Főleg arra, ami nem az erszényben van. Hanem a lelkekben. A magunkéban és a másokéban. A zenében, a versekben, a képekben, a mozgásban, a természetben.
