Na, megint eltelt egy év. Mindig ilyenkor veszem észre leginkább. Gondoltam alkotok az idén egy saját képet ide, de nem sikerült valami jól, ezért felteszem inkább ezeket a szép gyertyákat, hadd legyen egy kis fény ebben a nagy sötétségben.


Another year has gone by. This is the time i notice it the most. I thought I’d make my own Hanukkia picture this year but it didn’t really work out, so I am going to upload these nice lights in this big darkness.

Támadás a hét vezér ellen

Nem, még mindig nem akarok politikai dolgokkal foglalkozni, de azért ez a cikk tetszik.

I still do not intend to go into anything political, but there is an article I like. It is nicely written, unfortunately in Hungarian. But it is talking about how nonsense it is for the neo-Nazis to organize a rally against Chanuka (no, I am not kidding!!!) because they think this is just another sign of how the Jews try to take over Hungary (the whole world really, but Hungary, being no doubt the most important place in this Universe of ours is the first step).

Sansula

A Sansula nem egy női név. Lehetne még esetleg városnév, de az sem. S még csak nem is a Szent Ursula apácarend leányneveldéjének neve.
A Sansula egy hangszer. Nem is akármilyen. Egy ősi afrikai hangszer, a Kalimba továbbfejlesztett változata. Tulajdonképpen egy fa keretre felfeszített bőr (vagy esetünkben szintetikus) alapra felapplikált fa talpon álló fémnyelveket kell elképzelni (tudom, elég nehéz, de máris megtekinthető a videó néhány sorral lejjebb), amit tradicionálisan a két hüvelykujjal pengetnek, de a többivel is lehet.
A hangja varázslatos és gyönyörű. Mivel gyárilag "a" mollra van hangolva, nem nagyon lehet mellényúlni, úgyhogy az ember csak elengedi kicsit a fantáziáját és máris kezdődhet a repülés. A csodálatos muzsika szárnyain, írhatnám, ha ez nem lenne nyomdafestéket nem tűrően közhelyes.
Ja, és igen. Megvettem. Naná. Hanukára.



Sansula is not a woman’s name. It could be some far-away place too, but it is not. And it is not even the name of the girls’ school of the San Ursula monastery.
Sansula is a musical instrument. A very amazing one too. It is the modern version of the ancient African instrument, the Kalimba. Try to imagine a wooden frame with leather (or in our case a synthetic material) stretched out on it, on top standing a wooden block, holding little iron tongues. These tongues are being plunked originally with the thumbs, but the other fingers can be used as well. I know it’s hard to imagine but the video above shows exactly what it is like.
The sound coming out of it is truly wondrous. It is tuned to an ‘a minor’ scale so one can not really go wrong. You just relax and let your fantasy reach high and fly. On the wings of beautiful music, I could write, if it wasn’t incredibly cheesy.
Oh yeah. I bought one. Of course. As a Hanukah present.
