Amin gondolkoztam / What i've been thinking about

Például olyasmin gondolkoztam az elmúlt napokban, így Rosh hashana (zsidó újév) és Jom Kippur (engesztelőnap) között, hogy mi is az a bűn. Mert azt ugye tudjuk, hogy nem szabad rossz fát tenni a tűzre. És ha mégis megtörtént, akkor annak először is tudatában kell lenni, meg kell vallani önmagunk és I-sten előtt (bár néha az az érzésem, hogy a kettő egy és ugyanaz, hiszen ha őszinte vagyok magammal, ha saját magam előbb megvallok valamit, azt I-sten úgyis tudja, hiszen előtte titok nincs). Aztán meg kell bánni, meg kell térni belőle, és a jövőre vonatkozólag el kell határozni, hogy többet nem követem el. Volt erről a héten egy előadás is. Az is volt még benne, hogy pont az viszi előbbre a világot, ha hisszük, hogy módunkban áll befolyásolni illetve megváltoztatni a dolgok állását. Tehát nem azt mondjuk, hogy a világ rossz, benne mi is (eredendő bűn), úgyis mindegy, de majd ha ennek a kornak vége lesz, akkor így meg úgy. Nem. Hanem hiába rossz valami, akár én magam is, ha ezen változtatok, azzal a világon is változtatok. Ez mind szép és jó, ez eddig rendben is van.
Az én kérdésem egy lépéssel ezelőtt kezdődik. Hogy ugye mi a bűn. Igen, a kézenfekvő válasz az, hogy a Biblia pontos leírást ad erre vonatkozólag. De azért ez nem ilyen egyértelmű. Hiszen pont a Bibliából tudjuk, hogy az egyes emberek számára más-más dolgok minősülnek bűnnek. Hogy néha rendben van hazudni, ölni, lopni, elszeretni más feleségét.
Szóval szerintem nagyjából az a bűn, amivel mást ok nélkül bántunk. I-stent, embert, állatot, növényt, vagy éppen a Földet vagy a világűrt.
Na jó, persze ezzel együtt nem teljes a kép, hiszen okot mindig mindenre lehet találni. Mondhatnám úgy is, hogy mindig mindent be lehet bizonyítani, és mindennek az ellenkezőjét is.
Ezért aztán a legfontosabb tényleg az, hogy mi van belül. Hiszen hiába magyarázom valakinek, hogy egy adott dolog szerintem bűn (és be is bizonyítom neki, hogy miért) és térjen meg belőle, ha ő nem érzi úgy. Akkor nem fog tudni őszintén megtérni, és pláne nem fog a jövőben tartózkodni tőle.
De ugye azt sem lehet, hogy mindenki döntse el magának, hogy számára mi a bűn, és annak megfelelően élje az életét, mert akkor egy félelmetes káosz alakulna ki (vagy most is az van?). Szabályok, törvények, igenis kellenek.
Szóval az igazat megvallva nem nagyon tudom, hogy is van ez az egész. Gondolkozom ezen még egy kicsit.
Mindenesetre jó lenne, ha az élet könyvébe lennénk beírva és bepecsételve mindannyian.


In the past few days, between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur I have been thinking quite a lot about the concept and definition of sin. We know very well that we are not supposed to sin. And if it happens, we should first of all know about is, acknowledge is to ourselves and to G-od (sometimes I thing it’s the same thing; if we are honest to ourselves G-od knows anyway, there are no secrets in front of Him). Then we have to repent, and decide for the future that we are not going to do it again. I even heard a nice lecture about it during the week. The lecture also said that if we believe that we have the power and the ability to make the world better, it does indeed change things. So we shouldn’t just say that the world is bad, therefore we are bad too (since the story of Adam and Eve), and nothing matters because only after this world will be over will all kinds of things happen. No. Just the opposite. No matter how bad everything is, if I change myself, I change something in the world. And this is all true, all nice and wise and everything.
My question starts one step before this. Namely: what is the definition of sin? The obvious answer is that this is explained in detail in the Bible. But it is not this simple. Because we know exactly from the Bible, that the definition of sin may vary in different cases, for different people. That sometimes it is okay to lie, to kill, to steal, to want other people’s wife.
So I think that sin is something that hurts others for no good reason, whether it is G-od, humans, animals, plants, the Earth, or the space surrounding us.
Okay, this may not be a complete answer. A good reason can always be found. Everything can be explained, just like the opposite of everything.
Therefore the most important is what is inside. Because I can tell someone that a given thing is a sin (and prove it to them too), and that they should stop doing it. If they don’t feel it, if it is not coming from the inside, it’s worth nothing. They won’t be able to repent, and for sure they won’t be able to refrain from it in the future.
But still, we can’t say that everyone should decide for themselves and live their life accordingly either. This would cause total chaos (or do we live in total chaos already?). Rules and laws are a must.
So as I said, I really don’t know anything for sure. I’ll think about these things a bit more.
In any case it would be nice to be written and sealed in the book of life.
