Balaton and such
Gyerekkoromban sokat voltam ott a nagyszüleimmel.
Juniort.
Szépazélet.
Bike tour. Yeah. Last week. Around the beautiful Balaton. Lake Balaton is the second biggest lake in Europe; it is also called the Hungarian Sea. It was a perfect time and place for an amazing bike tour. I love the Balaton; as a kid I spent there many summers with my grandparents. We had garlic toast for breakfast and sang a lot. There is a bike trail all around it, up the hill, down the hill, through beautiful and peaceful fields and villages. We mainly went uphill, about 60 km. We took the bikes down on a train and it was very cool.
This past week I had a very deep, very real and very important talk with a wise friend. It was the kind of talk that lasts for about and hour and a half and then you think about it for about a year and a half. It is very important to know who your friends are in this crazy world.
Other than that I had my bike fixed up for the summer and threw out a few old clothes again.
I’m done with work today so I’ll go and clean my house tomorrow. My parents are coming soon, but before that I’ll go to an L.L. Junior concert this afternoon.
Lifeisgood.
Change
A friend called my attention to this song. Very appropriate. Very true. Very wise.
If you knew that you would die today,
Saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you knew that love can break your heart
When you're down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
Would you change?
How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?
If you knew that you would be alone,
Knowing right, being wrong,
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings up pain that can't be soothed
Would you change?
Would you change?
How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?
Are you so upright you can't be bent?
If it comes to blows are you so sure you won't be crawling?
If not for the good, why risk falling?
Why risk falling?
If everything you think you know,
Makes your life unbearable,
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you'd broken every rule and vow,
And hard times come to bring you down,
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you saw the face of God and love
If you saw the face of God and love
Would you change?

... tudod! / ... you know!
Kinézek én is. Ott áll a lefékezett fehér VW Golf, benne baseball sapkás fiú. Előtte idősebb férfi egyik kezével egy biciklit emel fel az útról, a másikkal egy póráz felé nyúl, a végén a szemem megtalálja a nagy kutyát, olyan berni pásztor féle, a zöldséges zöld műanyag kukája mellett.
- Nem szabad megállni, tudod! – mondja nyugodtan, a helyzethez szinte nem is illő gyengéd szeretettel a férfi.
Visszaszáll a biciklire, kezében a póráz, a végén a kutya, elindulnak; elindul a Golf is, a kezem meg közben odaér az almáért, fizetek, és útközben azon gondolkozom, ez most tényleg megtörtént-e.
Sometimes it seems like time somehow freezes for a moment. Everything simply stops for a few seconds. And then life goes on immediately and we just forget the pause as if nothing happened. A little while ago I went over to the fruit store across the street. I stand by the shelf with my hand on its way to the apples. I hear a creaking noise of brakes, from the corner of my eye I see the fruit store man looking out the window. I also look out. I see the white VW Golf that just stopped, inside it a young guy with a baseball cap. In front of it an older man lifts up a bicycle with one hand, with the other one he’s reaching for a leash. On its end I find a big dog, similar to a bernese, standing next to the big green garbage bin of the fruit store.
- You shouldn’t stop, you know! – says the man calmly, with a kind of gentle and loving voice that doesn’t really match the situation.
He gets back on the bike with the leash in his hand and off they go; so does the VW, my hand reaches the apple, I pay, and on my way back to the office I wonder if this really happened.

Lengyeltojás - Polish eggs
A múlt héten Lengyelországban voltam, munkaügyileg.
The pictures show my work trip to Poland last week. Gdansk is far. Very far. And cold. Very cold. So we drove a lot, worked a bit, saw the Ocean for five minutes, and then drove a lot again. No polish eggs though.

Super-Tramp
My love has got no money - he's got his strong beliefs…
És ebből volt a vicc, hogy:
My love has got no money - he's got his trampoline…
Remember that Gala song (great for exercising!) that goes:
My love has got no money - he's got his strong beliefs…
And it can be misheard as:
My love has got no money - he's got his trampoline?
I tried one of these trampolines last night! It is major fun once you get over the fear part.

Redemption song
I just can't not put this up. I already love this song from Bob Marley, and this version is just ever so beautiful. It's worth to read the lyrics too.
Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
Dese songs of freedom? -

Rose
Tegnap este kicsit padlót fogtam. Rose. Igen.

Last night a saw a play called Rose, written by Martin Sherman. Of course it moved me very deeply, as does almost any Jewish subject. The Hungarian actress, Éva Vári, who did the whole play alone, was amazing. I’ve heard a lot about her before but this was the first time I saw her in the theater. The play is really the life story of a Jewish woman; with war and peace, crime and punishment, love, intrigue, Israel, enthusiasm, disenchantment, basically pretty much everything that’s inside me too. It’s the kind of play where people in the audience sometimes laugh (either because it’s funny or because they are puzzled and don’t know what else to do), other times they hold their breath, and towards the end they start thinking and might even shed a few tears. Well, umm… I cried like rain when it was over; but this doesn’t mean much since I walked out of the movie theater crying after a comedy, and those were not tears of laughter either. In any case, this play will sustain me with food for thought for a while.

Kite
Hmmm.
Kite flying is fun! I never really knew this before because I never really did it. Till yesterday. Last week I happened to walk into a kite shop near my favorite guitar shop. The guy there was really nice and helpful and he told me that if I am interested in kite flying, there is an annual festival I could go to. and it was yesterday, so we went. and it was very nice. It was nice to be out in the sun and it was nice to see all those kites. I even got a cool 2-line foil kite. Well-well… I will need to practice a bit… But it is really major fun! It would be nice to be out some place nice with my kite right now instead of sitting in the office.

----------------------
Three sluttish Pekingese’ and a can of beer. What kind of life is that?! Asked P earlier this week when we left the house of M, who has a flower shop and a dog called Amelia; where we had a cappuccino in out empty half an hour because we didn’t feel like going to the Pit.
