Éjfél után...
... értem haza. Hajnali fél egy múlt. Zuhog az eső. Fáradt vagyok. Vállamon a gitár. Nyakamban a táska (Traffic Jam Budapest, négyezer ötért. Rablók.). Vizes a kabátom. Nyitom a rácsot. Nna. Mondom, nyitom a rácsot. Nyitnám. A rácsot. De nem nyílik. Leteszem a gitárt, nézem, mi van. Basszus. Basszus basszus basszus! Ezt nem hiszem el. Egyszerűen nem lehet igaz. Lám-lám. Itt járt kedvencünk, a tulaj embere, H úr, a vállalkozó. Minek. Bécsben lakik, s most nem tud mit tenni. Hmm. Ravasz? Fogós? Gondolkozom. Aludjak az irodában? Brrr. Ki van még fent ilyenkor? Lea! Felhívom Leát. Lea úgy csicsereg a telefonba éjjel fél egykor, mintha délután kettő lenne. Szia Lea, hogy vagy? Aha, és ott alhatok? Ott. Zuhany. Öltözés. Reggeli. Munka. Mintha mi se történt volna.

Got home kind of late last night. A bit after midnight. It’s raining. I’m tired. Got the guitar on my shoulder. The bag (Traffic Jam Budapest for 4500. What a rip-off) hanging from my neck. My coat is wet. Opening the bars. Hey. I mean opening. The bars. I mean… I would… if I only could. But I can’t. Okay. Let’s put the guitar down. What the heck. What the… Can believe this! This can not be true! He was here. Mr. H, the manager; the apartment owner’s guy. He manages to ruin any apartment. And he came to visit me today. Ooh, the fact that I wasn’t there and that he forgot to tell me he’ll look around a bit? It doesn’t matter. And guess what else. He locked the lock I don’t have a key for. So I’m standing outside my door, at half past midnight, and it’s raining. SMS to the owner. No answer. I call her. No, I don’t shout. No reason. She lives in Vienna and there’s nothing she can do now. Well-well. Tricky enough? I begin to think. Should I sleep in the office? Naah. Who’s up at this hour? Lea! I call Lea. She’s cheery on the phone at half past midnight as if it was 2 in the afternoon. Hi Lea, how are you? Yeah? And can I sleep over? I can. So we go over. Me and the Senorita. I got a hug, a cup of tea, moral support and some good ideas, pajamas, a toothbrush, hot shower and a soft blanket. I had a good night overall. By the time I got home this morning the lock was open. Shower. Changing. Breakfast. Work. As if nothing happened.

No meg Mari is.

Why Juana?
Yeah, of course, the Wandering Jew. That’s me alright. Just the kind of person who wanders around throughout this life, spiritually as well as physically, looking for G-d, for him/herself, his/her place in the world. This journey is filled with learning and yearning, experiencing, getting connected and disconnected, making mistakes and creating good things, loving and crying, huge feelings and lots of thoughts, suffering and happiness. All this while being an outsider. The Spanish name for the Wandering Jew is Juan Espera en Dios. John Trust-in-G-od.
That’s okay, you can call me Juana.
Rozsdás böki v.ö. Juana
22.). Aki pedig nem hiszi, járjon utána.
Addig én elmesélem, miért és hogyan lettem most Juana.
Keresi I-stent, önmagát, a helyét a világban.

Senorita Cuenca
Íme, Senorita Cuenca! Messzi földről érkezett ma hozzám, hosszas várakozás után. Spanyol mester kézi munkája, cédrus előlappal, mahagóni nyakkal, háttal s oldallal, rózsafa fogólappal. Senorita, azaz női méret. Úgy szól, mint az álom. Ezen kívül gyönyörű és illatos is. Máris szeretem.

Let me introduce - Senorita Cuenca! She finally arrived to me today. I've been waiting for her such a long time now. She is the handy work of a Spanish master; with a solid cedar top, mahogany neck, back and sides, rosewood fingerboard. She sounds, looks and smells beautiful. What can i say - love at the first sight.

Budapest Sun
Szóval az élet. Az elkezdődött megint. Dolgozom végre, és az jó. Viszont hideg van itt Budapesten! Be is vásároltam reggel jó kis gyógyteákat, hogy legyen mit kortyolgatnom, miközben a monitort bámulom. A gépírás?

See, Budapest is a beautiful city indeed. Especially when looking at it from the right angle. This pic was made by my friend Rafi, who is the best photographer I know. He suggested the other day that I upload here some of his photos. I think I’ll just create a photo album on the web and link it in here.
So… I’m back to Budapest, back to life, back to work, and that’s all good. It’s a bit chilly out there. I got some nice tea this morning so I’ll have what to sip while staring at the computer all day. Typing? Yes, it’s coming along pretty well; I’m up to the letter V. Wanna see?

Told you.

Gypsy
A close friend played this song for me a few days ago.
Gypsy (Suzanne Vega)
You come from far away
With pictures in your eyes
Of coffeeshops and morning streets
In the blue and silent sunrise
But night is the cathedral
Where we recognized the sign
We strangers know each other now
As part of the whole design
Oh, hold me like a baby
That will not fall asleep
Curl me up inside you
And let me hear you through the heat
You are the jester of this courtyard
With a smile like a girl's
Distracted by the women
With the dimples and the curls
By the pretty and the mischievous
By the timid and the blessed
By the blowing skirts of ladies
Who promise to gather you to their breast
Oh, hold me like a baby...
You have hands of raining water
And that earring in your ear
The wisdom on your face
Denies the number of your years
With the fingers of the potter
And the laughing tale of the fool
The arranger of disorder
With your strange and simple rules
Yes now I've met me another spinner
Of strange and gauzy threads
With a long and slender body
And a bump upon the head
Oh, hold me like a baby...
With a long and slender body
And the sweetest softest hands
And we'll blow away forever soon
And go on to different lands
And please do not ever look for me
But with me you will stay
And you will hear yourself in song
Blowing by one day
Oh, hold me like a baby...

Exploring Jerusalem

I spent the last few days in Jerusalem. Met some old and not so old friends, walked around a lot, enjoyed being a tourist (for example did the Old City Ramparts Walk which i never had a chance to do during the 7 years i lived in the city), got slightly lost once (no Mom, not it the Arab quarter; and besides, i was not alone, so it was ok after all), went swimming one day, and even saw a movie (Noodle - Israeli film, meant to be light and funny but i managed to cry at the end anyway).
This trip was just a bit too long, to be honest. I'm glad it's over. Today i'm traveling back to Budapest as if nothing happened. Just a weird dream. I wonder if i'll ever wake up, or i'll just keep doing these trips, my annual pilgrimage, to break my own heart time and again, every time it seems to be mended…?

Exploring Tel Aviv
Interestingly enough, after all these years, I just now, for the first time explored Tel Aviv somewhat. Here’s what I saw:

Beépített ses-bes tábla a Rotchild utcában. Barbarkának.
Built in backgammon board on Rotchild street. For Barb.

Buborékfújó gép egy üzlet tetején. Ágikának.
Bubble machine on top of a store. For Agi.

Jó kis ház. Ez ott volt a kézművespiac környékén.
Nice building. Somewhere around the craftsmen’s market.

Ezek a kis kávézó bódék a sétány közepén Bécsre emlékeztetnek.
These small coffee shops in the middle of the boulevard remind me of Vienna.

Utcai földgömb-kiállítás. Törékeny. Kéretik jól bánni vele.
Street globe exhibition. Fragile. Handle with care.

Ma pedig a tengerparton voltam.
And today I went to the beach.
Most is…
I noticed that sometimes by the time I get to write down what I did “today” it’s already tomorrow. Like now…
